Do You Ever....

...find that you somehow start to prattle on and on about stuff that you really didn't mean to prattle on and on about yet you horrifyingly can't stop your mouth from moving and spewing words you don't want to be saying?  Sheesh, that was me last night.  I thought about it during my walk home late at night from class on a humid and windless evening, my mind swirling around the inanities issuing from my foolish mouth and the things that came out of it that seemed to have a life of their own separate and apart from my brain.  I guess it boils down to insecurity, why we talk too much and justify ourselves and inflate our egos when instead, shutting up and listening would be oh so much better.  I know that I was tired and frustrated and doubting all of my choices and feeling awkward and insecure in my class last night, so I tried to cover it with humor, but that really fell flat, and then I felt naked and then stupid and then just rambled and kind of melted down as only a 6-year-old can do, and now I'm writing this true confession in the hopes that I can just let it all go and say, oh, well, I'm human after all (that's a whole 'nother blog entry, isn't it?  letting go of things....)  Sigh....

Here's hoping your day is making you feel like you belong and contribute important things and that you're feeling comfortable in your own skin and love yourself and have confidence in your abilities, whatever they may be.   Me?  I'm working on it.....
