Such A Lovely.....

...Thanksgiving with Mom :-)  As she gets older (she's 83 now), these times we spend together become even more precious.  She's amazing...sharp as sharp can be, limber like you can't believe, hearty, healthy, smart, funny, inquisitive, bizarre, creative, loving....Mom has always marched to her own drummer and has always been my inspiration for how one should treat all creatures, great and small.  I'm so happy I could spend Thanksgiving with her and bring home our traditional vegetarian lasagna (she's been a vegetarian for years and years and I think I've become one over this past year).  The dish was delish....except that I left out the middle layer of noodles.  Realized it right after I had popped it into the oven and there was nothing to do but cook the thing.  Ah, well.  My brain post 11/8 has just not been up to snuff.  It was yummy anyway -- how could it not be with yellow squash, zucchini, broccoli, spinach, onions, white button mushrooms, portabella mushrooms, tons of garlic and spices and diced tomatoes and tomato sauce and paste and chunks and oh, the cheese! provolone, ricotta, mozzarella, and a five-cheese blend :-)  Last year I had brought home Kung Fu Hustle, an awesome Stephen Chow movie, for her to watch and she never did, so I decided to sit down and watch it with her this year.  She was glued to the TV!  Loved every minute of this funny, stylish, magical, violent, marvelous movie :-)  Ah, Mom....there's no one on Earth quite like you.
