The March And Art....

....collided in my world on Saturday, the day of the Women's March To The Polls.  I had been asked to do a staged reading of a play that I love and that was very important to the playwright, so I had to do the reading and miss the march.  Honestly, last year, I was compelled to go to Washington, and if I could figure out a stronger word than "compelled," I would use it.  I HAD to go.  The day of the awful election when I saw how the tide was going, I said out loud to Rusty, "If there's a demonstration in Washington after this, I'm going." And indeed, there were demonstrations world wide.  Which tells all of us how f**ked up this whole election was.  And how wonderful and sad that folks felt compelled this year to march.  Won't it be grand when we don't have to do this anymore?  When we can all come together because love and truth prevails, not bigotry and hatred?  Won't it be grand to attend a love-in instead of a protest?  I am so proud of all of the folks who marched world wide again this year and so thrilled that I felt represented by my friends and family who marched in my stead.  March on!

Here are some pictures from my march on D.C. last year.  It is a day I will never, ever forget.
