"Too Many Notes..."

...one of my favorite and oft-quoted lines from Amadeus that runs through my head a lot when faced with too many choices for things, and today, it's the mayoral race in Chicago that has my head spinning with too many candidates.  Fourteen -- 14!!!! --  people have thrown their mayoral hats in the ring!  Fourteen!  The most in history.  And part of me rejoices over so many civic-minded people thinking they can run this terrifically effed up city and fix all the things that need fixing; another part of me laments that some of these people are in it to have their 15 minutes; then another part of me thinks this all comes from the fallout of having the orange f*ckwad in the White House and so many people have come into their own and found their voice to run for office; and yet another part of me thinks that now any yahoo has the belief that they can govern simply because their mommy said so or they have more money than God (or they think they're God) or they run a business; therefore, they can run the government.  P.S. on that one -- it didn't work in Springfield for clueless Bruce Rauner and it ain't working in Washington now.

So what to do....what to do....well, vote, number one.  But for who?  I've done my research and I've listened to all of the folks (well, honestly, the ones I can listen to....some of them do not deserve my ear), and today's the day that I actually have to vote for ONE of the FOURTEEN, several of whom are really qualified to hold the office.  It's an embarrassment of riches (and rich people and some not-so-rich-people).  So I'll cast my vote for one of them, and then later in March, we'll see who it actually boils down to, because it's highly doubtful that one of these fourteen candidates is going to garner the majority of votes to win outright today, and then we'll vote yet again in the runoff election in April.....so stay tuned.

In the meantime, isn't this cool?  The almost full, almost blood moon viewed from my bedroom window.  Good luck with whatever choices you have to make today.  I'm sure they'll all be right :-)
