....over the weekend to go and visit my folks. I did a lot of yard work at Mom's, cleaning up a ton of twigs and branches and leaves from her many trees, and it was a gloriously unseasonable February day in the mid 60s, plentiful sunshine and minimal clouds. So happy to be outside working in nature and not thinking about anything specific and just BEING. My favorite part of the weekend: sitting out back by the creek, listening to and watching the birds with Mom, when all of a sudden, a great cacophony overhead made us look up (even Mom heard it and she can't hear anything!) and a great flock of Sandhill Cranes were winging their way north. It was stupendous. Wish I could find a cabin (that I could afford) near a small lake and get away from it all when I need to....dreams and hopes keep you going, don't they? What are yours?
Here's sunset in the 'hood last week. Enjoy.
