A Sense Of Peace...

...and happiness washes over me when I'm in one room of our cottage and my partner is in another, each of us doing our own things, him perhaps cooking, me perhaps doing yoga.  The energy that each of us is giving off is palpable and comforting, sounds of dishes clinking if he's cooking, sounds of him playing his guitar while working on a new song.  It brings a smile to my heart every time to know that we're in our space together yet apart, working on the things that each of us want to be doing...or not working, just reading a book or looking out of our many windows at the cloistered world of our odd little front yard compound formed by our landlords' home, the neighboring houses and coach houses, the enormous mulberry tree that takes up so much space and feels like Mother Nature is alive and living in its many branches and hollow trunk....I feel so lucky at these times, a luck I thought I'd never have in a companion who is so much the fabric of my life and my soul. Life is good.  Life is really really grand.
