Annual June Reune....
....in Indianapolis last weekend with my fab family to celebrate Mom's 85th birthday (85!) and catch up and talk and talk and TALK! and LAUGH! and talk some more and revel in how great it is to be with family who I love fiercely and admire and enjoy so much. Not everyone could make it this year, so it was a smaller gabfest, but nonetheless, powerful and fulfilling and my soul is happy and my heart is overflowing (and my voice is worn out!) What a wonderful bunch of folks! I really lucked out in that department. For the umpteenth time, I find myself wishing we didn't all live so far apart and that I could walk down the street and visit my sister or brothers for coffee or whatnot instead of seeing them maybe once a year....but you take what you can get, and I'll tell you, I took it all to add to my memories and smile over them when the world gets too full of the bad stuff. It's so wonderful to have a treasure trove of love and hilarity and amazing conversation....I'm a lucky, lucky gal.
Here's a picture of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in downtown Indy, smack dab in the middle of Monument Circle, where, when I was growing up, nothing could be built that was taller than the monument. That law has since changed, but the monument is as striking and lovely as ever.
I hope this finds you having a most marvelous day, filling your heart and soul with all things good and beautiful.
