Blue, Blue....

...my arm is blue :-/  My softball snafu from Wednesday is now very visible and I have a really nasty bruise from my left wrist almost to my elbow that kind of curls around my arm.  At least I know I wasn't being a big wuss when I took myself out of the game.  My mobility is better, though not yet 100%.  But it's getting there.

Saw Mary Page Marlowe at Steppenwolf on Friday.  Much interesting discussion about the show with my friend afterwards over a lovely dinner and drinks for her birthday.  My thoughts in a nutshell:  It was a very interesting exercise, I thought, but it didn't move me or feel like a complete piece.  Intellectually interesting but I was untouched emotionally.  I personally want to be moved when I see theater, but people go for all different reasons.  That's just what I want, and I wasn't.  The ending also was super frustrating and incredibly unsatisfying.  Awesome roles for women -- thank you, Tracy Letts, for loving women.  So many male playwrights...don't.  Huge cast and many sets which would make it daunting for many companies to produce in these cash-strapped days, but university theater will gobble it up for that very reason.  All in all, I'm happy I saw it but I wanted it to be better.

Took a lovely loooong walk yesterday in this delicious weather.  And had to get a new pair of headphones for my other business (scoping -- if you don't know what that is, ask me) and I got these electric blue Beats that I think will work just fine.  There's a noise cancelling feature which is great for when my neighbors are mowing the lawn or big trucks recklessly scream down my street.
