Boxing Day....

....yesterday by my calendar and BFF, who traditionally has a Boxing Day dinner with her family.  I still don't know what Boxing Day means except it's the day after Christmas.  Maybe it's when all the used boxes get taken out to be recycled.  Or all the cats play with the boxes left over from opened gifts.  Or family is so tired of each other after a stressful holiday that they put on the gloves and duke it out.  Yesterday's Boxing Day here was so nice and warm that I took a really long, lovely walk and even sat outside for quite a while, just breathing in the beauty of the day and storing the sunshine for days that lack it.

I hope that your holiday, whatever you celebrate, was full of love and joy and that you got your fondest wish, whatever that may have been.

Is this not awesome?  Something I've been looking at for a year, probably, at one of my fave antique stores.  I bought it for myself for Hanukkah.  It makes me so happy and looks so wonderful on the big wall above my couch.  All the handiwork that went into it -- cutting out all the pieces, hemming all of them, laying it all out, sewing it all on by hand...it's so bright and happy and beautiful.  Yay!
