...two, three, four. Man, it's been a busy time!!! Feeling a little panicked about saying yes to so many things, but when all is said and done, it's all good.
Great Masters class on Monday at Acting Studio Chicago with the always lovely Steve Scott. He asked so many wonderful questions of the actors while working the scenes. Again, it was delicious watching a great director do his thing and then watching the scenes transform because of it.
My scene for Monday is from The Cherry Orchard. It's....challenging but exciting to work on. I'm approaching it as I would everything else and taking the OMG, CHEKHOV! equation out of it. Thinking along those lines gets you nowhere. I just have to approach it as I would all the other plays I've ever done: thinking about relationship and telling the truth and making bold choices, right or wrong....we'll see where that gets me :-)
Spent a glorious weekend with my sister and my niece and her wife in Indianapolis last weekend at my mom's. We talked until the wee hours and had beaucoup fun together. I love my family! Life = good.
I'm being an actor for an MFA directing class at DePaul, getting the chance to work with some actors I don't know and also a brand-new-spanking play by Barb Lhota that, speaking of relationships, is all over that. Yep, I say it a lot, but it bears repeating: feeling so grateful for so many things these days. A big THANK YOU out there to the Universe :-)
Below is a picture I took in Broad Ripple, one of the cool parts of Indianapolis.
