May Monsoons....

...have hit the last couple of days.  OY!  We've had torrential downpours with the light and sound shows giving them extra ooomph.  As I was driving to Chicago Dramatists last night to do some staged readings from short plays or scenes from a playwriting class, Essentials 2, quite wonderful stuff, the sky to the north was black.  Ahead of me, grey.  The second I parked, whoompf!  It's like someone unzipped the clouds and whoosh!  As a friend of my sister's from high school once exclaimed, "It was raining torments!" :-)  Truly, it was.  I tried to wait for an interval to dash to the theater, but no such luck.  I arrived soaked, my little umbrella not doing much to keep most of me dry, my jeans drenched to the knee.  Oh, well.  Whatchagunnado?
