...hmmmm....so I finished my eight-week on camera class at The Green Room on Tuesday night and I must say, it was a terrific experience. Got to work with incredibly knowledgeable and savvy teachers who really know their stuff and freely imparted so much amazing information. And honestly, it was really satisfying watching the folks who came in with very little experience blossom over the eight weeks. I'm not sure about myself....I think I try too hard sometimes....or I prepare so much and then don't leave it outside of the room. And I beat myself up a lot, which I really need to stop doing. The really cool thing about this class, and what made it so different from others I've taken, is that all of our video is posted on their website, so we can download and watch ourselves and really learn from that (some items of clothing have been stricken from my audition outfits, for sure! like the grey pants that make me look like a whale! and the shirt that pulls across my chest! and the green sweater that makes me look like somebody I don't want to look like! yikes! wish I'd known all of this before wearing these to auditions!) It's been a fascinating journey and I'm so grateful to Sean Bradley, David Murphy, Anne Acker, and Sarah....whose last name escapes me for their expertise and time wisdom and humor and guidance.
Finishing up my third 28-Hour Workshop at Chicago Dramatists. I've had very little to do with this one, which has oddly been okay because I've been so busy. Hoping the playwright, a lovely woman and a dear friend, has gotten out of it what she was looking for.
Booked a TV demo voice-over job for College Inn and I couldn't be happier!!!!! (I would fill this with exclamation points, but you get the idea :-)
Looking outside this morning, the street and sidewalks and cars are COVERED in maple tree poopies! Everything has a lime-green coating on it. It's pretty cool. Mother Nature...what a force.....
How's by you? I hope your day is full of fab!
Here's a silly sidewalk shadow picture for your enjoyment :-)
