On Our Feet.....

....for our first day of The Birds blocking (I've only had one friend ask if this is Aristophanes' The Birds.  Most people have been asking me, "Are you Tippi Hedren?"  How does one answer that? Of course, when I did August: Osage County in Ohio, my friends asked me which Steppenwolf character I was playing, so there you go.)  It never ceases to amaze me how on the first day of blocking, I can't walk and talk at the same time and all of my natural instincts, on which I rely a great deal, completely vanish and I feel like a deer in the headlights.  Like, 100% of the time, and I've been doing this a loooooong time.  Then after about a half hour, my feet regain their wisdom, my brain turns back on, and all is right with the world.  And most actors I know feel the same way, so at least I'm in good company.  Ahhhhhh, being in rehearsal....stupendously fantastically amazingly terrifically inspiring and beyond fabulousness (yeah, it's a word ;-)  Yay!

Hope y'all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend.  Sheesh, it's already in the rearview mirror....and we're hurtling towards Halloween!

I just love this sign and used to see it on Lincoln Avenue at the old gas station it belonged to.  Now it's in the Chicago History Museum.  Thank goodness.
