Peninsula State Park....
....in Door County, Wisconsin is beeyooteeful! Wow! I can't believe I've never been there! I went camping in a tent last week for the first time ever and I cannot wait to go again. We went camping when we were growing up, but my dad was way into the pull-along campers, and then we graduated to an RV (Dad and my brothers went tent camping, but with us girls, it was the pop up and the RV) -- our Starcraft Lemon -- broke down all over the U.S. One of my favorite stories: Right after we got off the Seven Mile Bridge that connects the tip of Florida to the Keys -- I mean right after -- the Lemon broke down. In those days, the bridge was a tiny one-lane-in-each-direction-no-shoulder bridge....we got incredibly lucky on that one! :-)
I haven't slept that well in....years and years and years. I don't know if it was all the fresh air or the water nearby where I could hear the surf of Green Bay or all the work that goes into camping that you don't realize until you do it. But sleep was amazing. Hiking was amazing. The peace and beauty and joy....taking a break from all things electronic and computer and phone related was bliss.....bliss....sheer bliss.
I'll be sharing many pictures from the trip. This was our first night there. Sunset over Green Bay. Ahhhhhhhh......and we were just steps away from the rocky beach behind our tent to be able to watch it.
