Pondering....

....inspiration and creativity and where it comes from and how to fuel my fires when I'm feeling uninspired and not at all creative.  Merriam-Webster's defines inspiration as:  1.  a :  a divine influence or action on a person believed to qualify him or her to receive and communicate sacred revelation  b :  the action or power of moving the intellect or emotions   c :  the act of influencing or suggesting opinions

2
:  the act of drawing in; specifically:  the drawing of air into the lungs

Luckily, I've got No. 2 covered.  That's inspiration that just comes naturally if you're alive and kicking.  However, I'm having an issue with No. 1, specifically with No. 1a.  "A divine influence..."   Does that mean if you're an atheist or agnostic, inspiration will not visit you?  And do b and c depend on the divine as well?  Does that mean I'm just left with No. 2, which is essentially breathing?

Where does your inspiration come from and how do you deal with it when you feel swamped and dull and that your creativity is on hiatus?  What do you do to spark your artist self?  Seriously.  I'm really asking.  Because I'm feeling a little like how this dog looks.....
