....auditions when it's working on sides for a specific play makes me feel so alive. I get totally lost in the prep and the research and delving into the text and the meaning of things and asking a million questions and making decisions and working on relationships. I unfortunately tend to lose sleep because my mind works overtime. I approach it as if I've already been hired and have to do all the homework necessary to bring the text alive and make sure to be truthful and stay in the moment. It's so much more fun to have sides to work on rather than just present monologues. I can teach anyone to do a monologue. I think it really shows an auditor what you can do when you work on an actual script and work with another actor or a reader. It can be especially challenging working with a bad or indifferent reader because you just have to put that aside and deal with it like they're the most amazing scene partner ever. Yeah, can you tell I'm either preparing or have just auditioned for something?
This is what I'm thinking about today. I wish it for you and for the world. That, and love and joy and harmony and understanding and acceptance and hope.....
