...our country. Unbelievable. Seriously. As I write, it's been 27 days, 10 hours, and 22 minutes that the orange fu*kwad has been holding our country hostage. Last night, Chuck Todd from NBC said that the only way for the shutdown to actually stop is for all government workers not being paid to walk off the job and then quickly said "not that I'm advocating that" (or something to that effect). But why wouldn't he advocate for that? I've been wondering why they don't all call in sick and then show up at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with signs up and hats out. Surely it's not fair that these asshats in Washington are getting paychecks for not doing a damn thing except arguing with each other while the real people who run the country go without. Unbelievable. And I'm expecting and hoping that this makes everyone take a good, hard look at presidential powers and makes sure that nothing like this can ever happen again. This is ego and narcissism at work in someone not fit to govern. Take to the streets, oh ye government pawns, and let your voices be heard!!!
On a much better government note, our newly-elected governor J.B. Pritzker just did an awesome thing his first week in office. He signed legislation to give the state more oversight over Illinois firearms dealers and requires gun stores to get state certifications and says he'll push for further gun control measures. Way to go, J.B.! Let's see what else this guy can do for our embattled and faltering state! Woot!
Wherever you are and whatever you're doing, I hope you're happy and healthy and having a beautiful day. Turn your volume way up so you can hear the angels sing :-)
