So Much Fun....

.....rehearsing The Birds!!!  The more I work on this play, the more intrigued I become.  All of the characters -- there are only four -- are fascinating and peculiar and have so many levels.  We did a designer run-through Thursday night.  I kind of remembered which scene came next :-/  Cannot wait to get all of our props and a finished set.  Because the show is in Lake Forest and we all live kind of scattered around Chicagoland, the usual after-rehearsal drink to unwind and discuss hasn't been happening -- I mean, one of us lives in Berwyn, another in Winnetka, two of us in the city, the director in Libertyville, so we just haven't had a chance to come together, which I think is crucial, really, for ensemble building (although that doesn't seem to be an issue, thank goodness!) and it's all part of the theater life.  Last night, against my better judgment due to a far-too-early rehearsal today, John and Scott and I went out for a beer.  Glorious good time, for sure!!!  Talking and laughing and exploring and pondering and just getting to know each other outside the work space.  Perfection.  Although I have to admit that getting home was somewhat of a nightmare because of all the f**king construction on Deerfield Road that got me and John back to the highway.  Holy crap!!!  I thought my neighborhood was bad! (It took me almost 40 minutes on my way to rehearsal yesterday to get from my place to the highway -- a should-be 7-minute trip!!!  Uncle!!!)  Oh, I hope you all enjoy whatever it is you do as much as I enjoy my profession.  Feeling incredibly fortunate and grateful and happy these days.....ahhhhh.....that's my wish for you.
