...a reading of a new play WITH ACTUAL PEOPLE!! IN PERSON!!!! IN THE SAME PLACE!!!! NOT VIRTUALLY!!!!!! And I have to say, it was GLORIOUS!!! We all talked about how strange and wonderful it was to be doing a reading of a new play not via Zoom, but in a dear friend's lovely condo, unmasked (we are all vaccinated). We all got to hug each other!!! Zoom is wonderful. It's made a lot of things possible that wouldn't have been possible and I've been very fortunate during the pandemic to be a part of quite a few play readings and getting to be an actor in quite a few playwriting classes. And, of course, auditions and callbacks via Zoom have been the only thing keeping the acting world going. BUT honestly, there is nothing like being in the actual room...the energy, the camaraderie, the way we connect and interact live, in person, cannot be replicated virtually. And we were all so incredibly grateful to be there together, friends and colleagues and husbands and lovers, celebrating and making ART together on this fabulous night.
