Thank Goodness.....

....it's Election Day, because if I have to see one more political commercial or get yet another robo call or throw away yet another flier or read yet another opinion on Facebook or have my stomach in knots thinking about it constantly and how heinous and embarrassing and mean this whole campaign has been....so breathe, two, three, four.  I'm worried about this day and what it will say about our country, our world, ourselves as human beings if the person who gets elected is....well, I can't even bring myself to say it.  Vote early, vote often.

On a MUCH better note, yep, the Cubs :-)  Man, it's been so amazing in Chicago!  The vibe is unmatched in my lifetime, I gotta tell you.  One of my BFFs and I went to Wrigley for the start of the parade....she and 200,000 of my closest friends.  It was peaceful and lovely and we cheered and yelled and waved at the double-decker buses full of Cubbies.  What a day!  And I went to visit Mom over the weekend in Indy, and of course, I was wearing Cubs gear, and folks at rest stops, in stores, and at gas stations were smiling at me and wanted to discuss Game 7 or say Go Cubs.  See?  There is hope for people....

And yes, The Birds closed and I'm....floundering just a wee bit.  Not that I don't have things to do...just that I prefer to be in a show and, well, now I'm not.....it was a terrific closing.  The show really had a great sparkle to it and a nice house (because we closed on a matinee and the Cubs were playing at night) and I stayed for strike, even though I didn't have to, but everyone else did and we all pitched in in some way and it was a truly special day.  I feel so thankful to have worked on that show and to have met the people I met.  I would work there again in a heartbeat.

Happily I'm getting ready to begin a 28-Hour Workshop at Chicago Dramatists, working on a lovely play by the terrific John Green, directed by the terrific Steve Scott, so I'm really looking forward to that :-)  Thanking my lucky stars that life is good, man....really, really good.
