The King of Cool....

....certainly had to have been Steve McQueen.  Watched The Getaway the other night, the '60s ultra-hip one, not the dumb remake (I still don't understand why someone would remake a classic.  Remake something that wasn't good in the first place and make it better!), and followed it up a couple of days later with Bullitt.  He was so terrific.  I love watching his eyes.  He says mouthfuls without saying a single word.  And oh, my god, so sexy....sheesh!  And that ten-minute car chase in Bullitt has got to be one of the best car chases ever!  Amazing how difficult that must have been to coordinate through the streets of San Francisco.  It blows my mind every time I watch it.

So I tried taking a race walk yesterday afternoon.  Woof, but I about froze my you-know-whats off, even though I had on long undies, a balaclava (yeah, I did kind of look like a well-dressed terrorist with headphones), my down coat, SmartWool socks, down mittens.  Still!  So flippin' cold out!  I lasted 20 minutes before I threw in the towel.  And guess what?  I'm going to try to do it again today too!  Wish me luck!  It feels so good to move! 

Speaking of cool, I've been searching this poster for forever.  We had this when I was a kid and who knows what happened to it.  Finally found it on ebay.  It's so awesome!  Thinking of framing it in yellow to make the dandelion pop.  I mean, come on, a zebra with a dandelion in its mouth!  What's not to love? :-)
