The Sports Equinox....

10/20/2017

....happened last night -- there were games in the NFL, NHL, NBA, and of course,  MLB with my Cubbies being knocked out of the NLCS by a clearly better Dodgers team.  I love it that they've given that kind of event such a great name, Sports Equinox.  Ahhh, sports writers.  Gotta love 'em.

I missed the bulk of the Cubs game last night because I was in a class, and I guess, to be honest, I'm not that sad that I missed it.  I hate to say it, but I didn't "feel it" this year, as I'm sure a lot of people didn't, as far as the Cubs making it to The Show again.  Last year was pure magic from the get-go.  This year was a much more difficult time (a lot of fun baseball, for sure) and I can't even imagine how hard it must be to be the team that everyone's gunning for and then trying to meet all the expectations.  But I have to say, Anthony Rizzo said the greatest thing when a sportscaster asked if he was tired coming into these NLCS games (and I'm totally going to paraphrase).   He commented on how lucky he was to get to play a game for a living.  He gets to wake up every day and play.  No, not tired.  Love that guy!

So I guess we'll get 'em next year.  And if not then, the year after that.  Because when you're a Cubs fan, hope springs eternal in the spring.  Ain't nothin' wrong with that :-)
