Weighing In....

....on Oprah's Golden Globes speech and all the hoopla and speculation and push to have her run for president in 2020.  First of all, great speech.  No doubt about it.  A total class act, right from the heart, saying all the right things and doing it beautifully.  Bravo to her for making the speech she made, just as Meryl Streep last year kicked ass in her speech.  But president?  Of the United States?  Um......no.  Sorry.  We already have someone in office who doesn't know dick about running a country (or running anything, for that matter, except running his mouth and tiny tweeting fingers).  In this #MeToo culture, if we're going to back a woman for president (and I hope with all my heart that happens again this next go 'round), my vote would go to Michelle Obama, who unfortunately and intelligently doesn't want it.  Who can blame her?  So then my vote goes to Elizabeth Warren or Kirstin Gillibrand.  Kamala Harris?  Amy Klobuchar?  Sorry, Oprah lovers, but these women deserve the nod way more than Oprah.  She's a force to be reckoned with and I admire the heck out of her, but these women have my vote.  There you go.  In the words of Mammy Yokum, "I has spoken" :-)

On a completely different note, I was able to take my first race walk of 2018 yesterday!  It's been ridiculously frigid here for weeks.  Yesterday it was in the high 30s -- it felt like summer :-)  Amazing what a walk can do for the psyche!  I hope wherever you are, you're having a glorious day.

Here's another picture of that December 31st moon.  This is through the front windshield of a car.  A weird and kind of cool shot, no?
