....with you?  Let's see, here, I was in Continuum Theater's Jewish Play Writing Festival on Sunday night at Theater Wit and it was a blast.  We did 20-minute scenes from three very different plays.  The really cool thing about this festival is that it strives to choose contemporary Jewish plays from playwrights  that don't focus on the Holocaust or Yiddish theater, both of which are totally valuable, but what David Winitsky, the founder and director of the festival, wants to do is have a 21st Century perspective of the Jewish experience.  The plays we did were about an older wealthy businessman wanting to be Bar Mitzvahed before his grandson and the relationship between him and the rabbi (which I got to play); an Orthodox Jewish 17-year-old girl who wants to leave her Orthodox upbringing and go out into the secular world (I played her mom); and a piece about a somewhat adrift young man looking to find himself who takes a trip to Israel, decides to stay, and then is killed in Lebanon (I also played his mom).  All three pieces were fresh and interesting and so fun to work on and I really feel honored to be a part of this festival.  I got to work with a dear old friend and meet some fun new folks, and all in all, it was a terrific weekend of rehearsing and exploring and reading these lovely plays.

How's by you?  I hope your day is full of all things wonderful and fulfilling.

Below is the last snow we had.  Pretty cool, huh?
