....2018 and thinking back on all the things that have happened this past year, from awesome to awful; from terrific to terrifying; from spectacular to scary; from fabulous to forlorn....a year contains so many things personally, professionally, globally, near to home, countrywide....it's astonishing to me that another almost 365 days have passed in this lifetime....and thinking about how sometimes individual days can last forever (especially right around 2:00 in the afternoon) versus how all of a sudden, a week has gone by, and then poof! it's almost a new year! Seriously....the rapid amping of time moving is astonishing to me as I grow older. I don't make New Year's resolutions. Do you? If you do, I hope you keep as many as are feasible and find new things to excite and move you, to refresh and soothe you, to spur you to greatness and pour out love to your fellow beings. Happy almost 2019! Woooooot!
Here's another picture that I didn't mean to take, but it interests me because of what it says about our world right now: look at the spectacular view from the train window....and the girl totally blind to it because she's glued to her phone. I see this every day, all day...people walking down the street completely unaware of their surroundings...people driving, talking on the phone....people on the train totally plugged in and vacant....technology is incredible, but are we using it well? All this isolation that people are feeling....kind of an oxymoron, isn't it, that the world is literally at your fingertips 24/7 if you want it to be, yet there's so much loneliness and sadness out there....if people would only look up and into the eyes of strangers again, greet them with a smile....think of it....
