...or souls-tice :-) The best part about it? Tomorrow, the days start getting longer! Yeah, I know, infinitesimally, but still....longer! Which means more sun, which we have been sorely missing.
So last night I did a reading of the first act of a new play by a lovely playwright that I've worked with on many occasions. I have to admit that I was not looking forward to it because I felt so crappy because of this dang cold that seems to just want to live here. I must be a really good hostess :-/ I was sure my voice would abandon me and that I would have to croak out my lines and people in the back row would have to strain to hear me, which, believe me, is never an issue for me. I can always be seen and heard! And then the thing happens to so many performers when they're under the weather and feel like they're at death's door: we rally and triumph and find our voices and conquer the whatever needs conquering and rise to the occasion and I had a great time. Whew! However, I did come home immediately afterwards, drank foul-tasting cold medicine, and passed out in bed early. So I rallied, then I crashed :-)
Here are some pictures I took from the 57th floor of 311 S. Wacker the day of my industrial shoot. I swear, I would never get a thing done with these views overlooking the lake! And the sun made the lake and all the buildings look so different at different times of the day. And when we wrapped, it was dark and an almost-full moon was peeking out from a building, so I had to stop and snap some pics (the last one is blurry because some hurrying commuter ran into me on the sidewalk, but it's kind of artsy and I like it :-)
I hope this day finds you full of joy and love and hope and good health and all things wonderful. Have a most marvelous day!
